  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan
  • In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
  • Stir in the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract
  • Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in
  • Add the flour and mix until just combined. Do not overmix
  • Fold in optional add-ins if using
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
